DCFA Partners with Key Lime Air

PEYTON, Colo. – Approximately a year after opening its flight school at Meadow Lake Airport, Direct Connect Flight Academy (DCFA) has formed an exciting new partnership with Key Lime Air, providing their graduating pilots a direct pathway into a pilot position at the local leader in cargo and air charter services, based out of the Centennial Airport.

“We are so excited to officially announce this partnership and look forward to the opportunity to provide highly qualified pilots to Key Lime Air,” co-founder of DCFA, Ben Dwyer stated. “Our priority is to provide an airline enriched learning environment, which provides our students with an advantage when they are looking for a career in the airline industry.

“Key Lime Air operates a fleet of more than 25 aircraft, that fly more than 10,000 hours every year and providing a variety of operations from cargo services to scheduled and on-demand passenger services. They are a top-notch company to work for and with, and they operate at the highest standards. We can’t wait to see how this partnership benefits not only our graduating students, but also Key Lime Air and the customers they serve.”

Celebrating flying excellence since 1997, Key Lime Air began in a similar fashion to Direct Connect Flight Academy, and was founded upon the vision of a few aviation professionals who believed in capitalizing upon an opportunity to be innovative, adaptive, and able to capture niche markets within the aviation industry.  Now, over 20 years later, Key Lime Air has strategically positioned itself as a leader in the feeder airline market, owning, operating and maintaining its entire fleet of aircraft, making it the largest of its type, and enabling the company to effectively control its operational and maintenance programs to the highest standards.

“In an industry experiencing pilot shortages, Key Lime Air understands the importance and value of establishing a partnership with Direct Connect Flight Academy,” said Key Lime Air Director of Operations, David Carrizo.  “Their highly qualified and well-trained graduating students will benefit our company by providing us with the type of pilot we need to excel in our operation. These pilots in turn benefit from gaining valuable experience flying in our unique passenger and cargo operation as they advance their career.”

From its first class of graduating students this past year, Direct Connect Flight Academy has already sent two new pilots to Key Lime Air and plan to more than triple that number over the next 12 months as Key Lime Air grows and new opportunities arise. The Academy is already nearing its capacity for spring and will no doubt see a rise in future enrollment with this partnership. Aspiring pilots are encouraged to apply now.
